Vintage Wallpaper Stationery

Aren't these vintage wallpaper stationery BEAUTIFUL? The orange flowers add just the right amount pop. Wouldn't you love to receive one of these envelopes and be surprised w/ the pop of color when you open it? *sigh* The handwritten names are quite lovely too. I'm going to have to practice my cursive now...

"Hiking" in the City

Sunday was a gorgeous, gorgeous day, so the husband and I decided to take Jobie for a walk. We ended up exploring the old railroad track-turned-jogging path behind our house. It was a pretty long path. It went all the way to Ashland, which is about 1 mile or so away. We got to see some really amazing houses and their awesome rooftop decks. *so jealous* Then we strolled down the street to rest and get a drink. Jobie was exhausted!

Adorable Etsy Finds

I love graphic prints and cute illustrations. The wedding posters
are a brilliant idea! And I just may have to dress up my kitchen
with some new tea towels and coasters.

Daydreaming of...

...soft sand under my feet and a warm breeze blowing through palm trees.. Sadly, Chicago has neither. I'll settle for these beautiful goodies from Anthropologie. Bright, sunny yellow paired with blue or gray make the perfect combination for a spring day. (Aren't the chandelier earrings gorgeous??)

A rainy Friday afternoon

It's been raining all day long. The husband left for a bachelor party on some tropical beach this morning. *jealous* So let's move on to something less dreary.

I made this bouquet of paper flowers for my parents' anniversary dinner and mother's day brunch. I must say that I was really pleased with the end result. The instructions weren't the greatest, but I figured it out eventually. It must've taken me 5-6 hours to create all the flowers altogether. I didn't even make all 24 flowers in the kit! My husband laughed at me and said he would've just spent the money to buy real flowers. Men...they just don't understand!

For my parents' big anniversary this year, my sister and I decided to make dinner for them. We've never cooked for them before, and my dad is a chef. So, needless to say, it was a bit stressful to come up with just the right menu. Unfortunately in all the craziness, I didn't take any close up pictures of the food. :( I was so happy everything turned out well, and my dad really enjoyed all the food. Especially, the asparagus in a balsamic butter sauce! He couldn't stop raving about it! The rest of the menu included the most delicious pork chops, ribeye steaks, corn on the cob, sesame pasta chicken salad, and sangria.

Hehe...I love how my sister was fixing my dad's collar.

Recent projects

I created this baby shower invitation for my cousin. They are decorating the baby room in a jungle theme with light blue and brown. So I went off of that and...voila! A simple and cute invitation.

I designed these wedding invitations for a friend for their quickly approaching wedding. Her wedding colors are eggplant, chartreuse, and a touch of marigold. She wanted her wedding stationery to be modern with clean, geometric lines.
