Harbin Ice and Snow Festival

Each year, artists, ice sculpture experts and fans from countries including America, Canada, Japan, & Russia, make their way to see the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival. Harbin is the capital city of the Heilongjiang Province which is the most north-easterly part of China and borders Russia. During the long cold winter months the temperature can drop down to as low as -30°C! Can you believe all of the sculptures and buildings are made from blocks of ice?! To see more images, click here.

  1. There is actually a very small version of that here in Dallas, at the Gaylord Resort. Michael and I went to see it before Christmas, the line was too long, it was indoors, but cold nonetheless. Looks neat!
