Recent Project: A Whimsical Logo - Final Choice
The client chose this design as her final logo. [Click here to see the other drafts and here for her blog.] She just emailed me saying, "I have been getting tons of compliments on the logo saying that it suits my personality very well!!" Hearing that made me feel all warm & fuzzy inside! Hehe. Here is the design for her business card. I love the simple pinwheel outline and the bold fuchsia on the back. :)

Happy Friday!
I'm going to our friends' wedding tomorrow and their rehearsal dinner tonight. Can't wait to see all the paper goods I designed for them all printed and set up! I can't believe they're getting married TOMORROW! Congrats, Sue + Mike!
(I changed their wedding information a little. So if you've been
invited to the wedding, don't follow this info!)

Meet Sydney
I just came upon another fashion-related blog, The Daybook, that's full of warm, sun-filled photos of the charismatic Sydney. I like how she looks really comfortable in her photos, and she's having a lot of fun.

Recent Project: A Whimsical Logo
Amy was in need of a logo for her photography hobby. She mainly photographs babies & children. So she wanted a fun and whimsical logo that would appeal to mothers. Here are a few of the logos I designed that weren't chosen. (I'll post about her final logo soon.) I decided to use a pinwheel as the main design element because of its likeness to a camera shutter. I thought it was the perfect way to incorporate the playfulness of children and photography.

The World of Petite Bloggers
I recently discovered this world of petite fashion bloggers. I never knew there was such a thing, and there are a ton of them out there! Here are a few that I like...
The Chloe Conspiracy
What caught my eye with her blog was her fabulous style (great accessories, beautiful handbags, hair and makeup) and her quality photos. She uses a DSLR with a tripod and remote. Her photos always have great lighting. I also like how she lists daily sales and includes links to her favorite picks from each store. I must say this is very dangerous for a shopaholic. ;) By the way, the ruffly grey cardigan Chloe is wearing is the J.Crew Traversa that I mentioned here. It's on Final Sale!
Really Petite
I'm amazed by how truly tiny these petite bloggers are. Really Petite is a mere 5' and 90lbs. Their stats remind me of my SIL. She's 4'10" and ridiculously tiny. Whenever I'm with her, I feel like a 50 foot woman, and I'm only 5'2"! Anyway, I like Really Petite's clean style. And she mostly features professional wear and skirts & dresses. I love her Ann Taylor patent pumps!
Extra Petite
This petite blogger is just under 5' and 94lbs. The quality of her photos and natural-looking poses caught my attention. She looks really comfortable in front of the camera. I like her classic style that has an edgy spin.

Dexter-Inspired Poster
I came across these awesome Dexter-inspired posters on Twig & Thistle. These posters were designed by the creative genius behind Mattson Creative. I love the colors, the graphics and the clever design of the iconic moments from the show.

Girl & the Goat
A few weeks ago, the husband and I went to Top Chef (season 4) winner, Stephanie Izard's restaurant for my birthday. We were both really excited to try the Girl & the Goat. They feature small plates that are meant to be shared. Everything was flavorful and the service was excellent. We definitely want to try this place again...but with another couple so we can try more items on the menu. :)
[sauteed green beans in a fish sauce vinaigrette]
[the best oysters I've ever had]
[chickpea fritters (our favorite dish of the meal!) with the most delicious heirloom tomatoes]
[sauteed shrimp . peanut pork ragout . shiitake . spaghetti squash - this dish was just ok.]
[the famous Pig Face (yes, you read that right.) it was pretty tasty!]
[happy birthday to me. :) the dessert was a goat cheese bavaroise w/ blueberries]

West Elm
Even though West Elm opened up a store near my house, I don't go there nearly enough. Haha. I guess that's a good thing though. :) They have a really fun & whimsical home decor collection, and some really great gift ideas. These are my picks...

Fabulous Fall Clothes at Old Navy
I like it when celebrities wear affordable clothing. Kristin Cavallari and Annalynne McCord was spotted wearing this super cute Old Navy Ruffled Coat. It's a very lightweight wool-blend coat, so it's perfect for the Fall.
[via People Style Watch]ON was having a sale on their cardigans this past week. Most of the cardigans were $20 and tanks were $10. There are still a few selected styles that are still on sale! I'm loving the embellished details that have been popping up all over the place. More and more retailers are taking a cue from J.Crew and coming out with more affordable, embellished tops. I'm liking it!
