Black Swan
I saw Black Swan with my girlfriends yesterday. I'm usually a romantic-comedy, happy-happy movie type of girl, but I went along to see this dark thriller because of the rave reviews. I've been wanting to see a ballet (like The Nutcracker) for the last few years. After seeing this movie, I really want to see one now! The dancing and costumes were amazing. I never knew Natalie Portman was a dancer. She was so graceful and natural-looking as she danced. But the movie had me on edge the whole 2 hours. I left with sweaty palms and knots in my stomach. :( Intense is an understatement.

My friend said she needed a massage after seeing it. I've still yet to see it - my husband is weak at heart (i.e. faints easily) and fainted during the Wrestler so I'm leery of going to the theater with him. Everyone else has seen it and I'm not watching it alone. SO I guess I'll have to wait until it comes out on dvd :(
ReplyDeleteThis movie was indeed awesome and intense. I saw Nutcracker, The Swan and a few other ballet productions...unfortunately, seeing a ballet in person isn't as glamourous and exciting as this movie. Some are actually quite boring.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see this film, good to hear more about it :)
ReplyDeleteThis movie was cuuuh-raaazy!! But so good and creepy!
ReplyDeletethanks truly smitten, I think i am going to take your advice and never go see a ballet. I am sure it will be quite boring.
ReplyDeleteLOL! no problem. Forced Nick to go once. He fell asleep 2 minutes into it. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteThe movie was so good but yeah, I was definitely super tense throughout. I had my hands over my eyes for half of the movie and I think I shrieked a few times too. A lot scarier than I expected
